REZONING APPLICATION submitted August 13 2018

In early September 2018 OBUC made available the main Rezoning Application and Plans available and the above documents were released on September *10, **11 & ***12.

Landscaping & Arborist reports (two reports in one PDF)

Three mature trees are being removed:

1. A massive Garry Oak –it is 80 cm / 32’ across the trunk at chest height*

2. A big arbutus – it splits to two trunks that are 20cm & 18 cm / 8” & 7” in diameter

3. A big birch (behind Threshold House) that is 30 cm / 12 in diameter

* Technical term is DBH – diameter at breast height, which is usually standardised to be at 1.3m / 4’ above ground level.

Replacement Garry Oaks are to be ‘sticks’ with 5cm / 2” diameter trunks with root balls wrapped in burlap. (This is what 5cm cal, b&b; on the report means.). Here is a photo of a Garry Oak thay is approximately 10 cm / 4” cal.
